It’s Release Day!

I can’t believe it’s finally here!

It is finally Release Day for The Sower’s Secret, book no. 1 in the Parable Port series that Brock Eastman and I have been working on for so long! We are so excited for you to be able to pick up this book and read it for yourself and see everything that happens from all the adventure and action and humor to how the kids in Parable Port grow in their faith and are reminded that God is always with them!

The book is officially available wherever books are sold — you can find it online at major retailers or in person at Barnes & Noble! If you do pick up a copy, post a picture on your social media with the hashtag, #ParablePort!

Writing a book is always a lot of work, but it’s double the fun when you get to write it with a good friend. Brock and I have had so much fun bringing this series to life, and the amazing team at Tyndale Kids have been incredible. We couldn’t be happier with how this series is turning out.

We could not be more excited to introduce you to Parable Port, a brand new series from myself and author Brock Eastman! We’ve always wanted to write a book together, so when we sat down to dream about the world we could create together, Parable Port became our top travel destination!

Parable Port is a coastal town where the parables of Jesus literally come to life! So think The Parable of the Sower, Parable of the Lost Coin, Parable of the Good Samaritan, and on and on! The parables come to life and it’s up to Anthony and his friends to discover why the parables are going haywire! They used to help the town in amazing ways, but now, something or someone is messing with the parables.

Can Anthony, J.R., Brooklyn, Grace, and Duck discover the truth before it’s too late and the whole town is lost in a tangle of vines, rock slides, and flocks of birds?

Book #1 comes out March 3, 2026 from Tyndale Publishers and we can’t wait for you to travel with us to a brand new world of mystery, adventure, puzzles, clues, and parables! This is a middle grade series for readers of all ages. And did I mention the book is pretty funny? Because it is! Or at least, Brock and I keep laughing about it!

Brock and I both write books that we would have wanted to read and wish we had when we were younger. This book is perfect for fans of series like Magic Tree House, The 39 Clues, or Adventures in Odyssey, and there’s even a little bit of Indiana Jones adventure and treasure hunting thrown in the mix!

Join the Adventure: Upcoming Kids’ Book Series

Over the past couple of years, fellow author Brock Eastman and I have been hard at work on a project we are so excited to finally start talking about! We were offered a publishing contract for a four book series coming out from Tyndale Publishers in 2026!

I can’t say a lot more yet (no spoilers after all!) but we couldn’t be more thrilled to start telling you about all the adventures, fun, and laughs that are in store for you in this series! Set in a sleepy little town on the coast, a group of kids come face to face with the adventure of a lifetime when everything in town seems to go haywire overnight! Now it’s up to them to solve the mystery and save everyone before it’s too late. Along the way, the kids will discover their faith in Jesus is stronger than anything they could ever face.

That’s all I can say right now, but we are both so excited to bring this series to you soon! The co-writing process has been a blast, and seriously, we are laughing our way through so many Zoom calls as we write, plot, and plan for all the secrets in store for readers who enjoy modern day fantastic fiction! Book #1 is with the editors, and we’re hard at work on book 2!

Oh! Speaking of book 2… I better get back to writing!

BOOK REVIEW: HOSPITALS MAKE ME SICK by Fred E. Katz (Spine Chillers #11)

As I continue reading through the SPINE CHILLERS series by Fred E. Katz, of course there has to be one or two that doesn’t quite make it up to the level of the rest of the series, and this is one of them! I had quite a few things to say about this book, so not only is this a review, but it also continues a mini-rant from yours truly!

BOOK REVIEW: STAY TUNED FOR TERROR by Fred E. Katz (Spine Chillers #10)

This book was one of my favorites from the Spine Chillers series by Fred E. Katz! In this entry, a group of kids are auditioning to be the hosts of a scary stories television show, but then things turn a little spooky because mysterious things keep happening on set.

BOOK REVIEW: TUCK ME IN, MUMMY by Fred E. Katz (Spine Chillers #9)

I have always loved stories about Egypt and the pyramids! So when I found out there was a Spine Chillers book about mummies and Egypt, I had to read it! This book reminded me so much of some books I read back in the 1990’s, so it was the perfect throwback read for me.

I’ve been reading a lot of 1990’s Christian fiction not only to feel that nineties nostalgia, but also to see what books I missed from when I was a kid! Enter: Spine Chillers by Fred E. Katz, a Christian Goosebumps rip-off series that came out at the height of the Goosebumps craze!
