It’s Release Day!

Release day for book 2 in Parable Port is here! The Captain’s Clue is the second adventure from the world of Parable Port, and we could not be more excited for you to read what happens next to Anthony, Grace, J.R., Duck, Blake, Brooklyn, and all the characters both old and new coming to this mysterious seaside town where the parables of Jesus literally come to life!

A brand new parable is coming to life in Parable Port, and as the Parable Port Penguin Crew begin to piece together the clues, they realize they’re going to need a captain’s clue to save the day and the town as the rains fall, the floodwaters rise, electric eels and sharks swim into town, and not even Abuelita Rosita’s dodgeball skills can save the day!

I’m so excited about this second book in the series. I was just working on a Bible story for Kids Church in 1 Samuel 1 where people are making fun of a lady named Hannah. It reminded me in some ways of this story, as Hannah begins to listen to the words of the people around her instead of the words of life God speaks.

At the heart of The Captain’s Clue is a parable all about who you are listening to. Who’s voices are you giving the most space in your heart and mind? Are you giving space to the negativity, endless doom-scrolling spirals, and harsh words around you? Or are you giving space to the God who loves you, cares about you, and speaks the truth over you?

Our prayer for this book is that it would speak to people as they discover how much life can be found in the words of Jesus!

It’s Release Day!

I can’t believe it’s finally here!

It is finally Release Day for The Sower’s Secret, book no. 1 in the Parable Port series that Brock Eastman and I have been working on for so long! We are so excited for you to be able to pick up this book and read it for yourself and see everything that happens from all the adventure and action and humor to how the kids in Parable Port grow in their faith and are reminded that God is always with them!

The book is officially available wherever books are sold — you can find it online at major retailers or in person at Barnes & Noble! If you do pick up a copy, post a picture on your social media with the hashtag, #ParablePort!

Writing a book is always a lot of work, but it’s double the fun when you get to write it with a good friend. Brock and I have had so much fun bringing this series to life, and the amazing team at Tyndale Kids have been incredible. We couldn’t be happier with how this series is turning out.

We could not be more excited to introduce you to Parable Port, a brand new series from myself and author Brock Eastman! We’ve always wanted to write a book together, so when we sat down to dream about the world we could create together, Parable Port became our top travel destination!
