It has been such a whirlwind couple of months since the release of book 1 in Parable Port, The Sower’s Secret! Brock and I have been on several podcasts, radio, YouTube shows, as well as done a few book signings! We’ve sneaked into Barnes & Noble stores to sign book copies, and have been reading so many fun reviews from parents and families who are loving the series so far!
But guess what?!
Book 2, The Captain’s Clue is now less than a month away from releasing! On June 9, 2026, the Parable Port Penguin Crew will be swimming through a flooded town facing down electric eels, sharks, and octopi (or is it octopuses? We’ll have to let Duck and Grace settle that one!) as they discover another parable from Jesus coming to life in their small town!
I’m super excited for this book, because book 2 is all about who we are listening to. There are so many voices vying for our attention in the world. There are voices that lie to us. There are voices that tell us “hard truths.” There are voices that mix truth and lie and it can be so difficult to wade our way through the murky waters of words to see what the Word, Jesus, has to say!
I feel like for kids this one is going to be huge: as the kids in Parable Port wrestle with fame, the voices trying to speak into their lives, and discovering what friendship is all about, they’re going to have listen to the voice of Jesus more than ever to make it to the other side of this parable!
Which… I’ll give you this hint: the floods, the rain, the house built on a rock… might all be pointing to a certain parable in Matthew 7 that has come to life in Parable Port!
