BOOK REVIEW: STAY AWAY FROM THE SWAMP by Fred E. Katz (Spine Chillers #8)

I’ve been reading a lot of 1990’s Christian fiction not only to feel that nineties nostalgia, but also to see what books I missed from when I was a kid! Enter: Spine Chillers by Fred E. Katz, a Christian Goosebumps rip-off series that came out at the height of the Goosebumps craze!

Check out my review of Stay Away from the Swamp, book #8 in the Spine Chillers series below!

Massive Book Haul – Christian Fantasy, Adventure, and More!

One of my favorite things to do when I’m not writing is walking around a good used book store! I’m fortunate to have three different wonderful used book stores within an hour’s drive, so last week I visited all three in one day! I found a ton of great used books ranging from Sigmund Brouwer’s Accidental Detectives to Bill Myers’ The Guardian, book #5 in his Forbidden Doors series, one of my favorites!

Check out everything I found in the video below!

BOOK REVIEW: The Changeling (The Wormling #3) by Jerry B. Jenkins & Chris Fabry

It’s been roughly 16 years since I read the first two books in The Wormling series, so I decided it was high time I went back and finished reading this Christian fantasy series for middle grade readers! I recently finished reading The Changeling, book #3 in The Wormling series written by Jerry B. Jenkins and Chris Fabry.

Christmas 2023 Surprise!

Surprise!

It’s a Thrones: Side Quest available now in paperback! Light of the Frozen Star is the story that answers the question someone recently asked me that I thought was worth exploring!

“How did Jagger and Innes actually meet?”

The adventure I discovered behind the journey that forged an unlikely friendship between archer and squirrel is one of my favorites! Set at Christmas time, Innes the squirrel soon discovers that the forest is being frozen in snow and ice, and the only person who can help him is Jagger, the grumpy archer who just moved into the cottage by the old obelisk.

Together, they embark on a dangerous journey to find out the truth behind the mysterious blue light that has frozen their world.

Weaving in the story of Christmas from Luke 2, this novella will definitely scratch the itch between Skin of the Dragon Lord and Song of the Dead Prophet.

Where in the series does this story fall?

I recommend reading Light of the Frozen Star definitely after book one and the short story in the back of Secret of the Lost King. It will help quite a bit if you’ve read books two and three, but you don’t absolutely have to have read those to read this side quest!

I hope you enjoy this Christmas surprise!
